Cancer is hard — it’s really hard — but it’s an experience I wouldn’t trade for anything. It has allowed me to arrive as a person. You don’t really know who you are and what is important until life is threatened to be taken away from you.
So, who am I?
I am a 27-year-old breast cancer survivor. I am a loving wife and a compassionate, professional woman. I love to travel, cook, read, dance and spend time with loved ones. I was once intensely private (and still am to a certain extent). But I now choose to share my experience with the world after realizing the positive effect others who are brave enough to share have had on my life.
My goal is for this blog to be a resource and an inspiration to other cancer survivors. No matter what stage you are, or what type of cancer you have, there is a beautiful life away from the battle. Breast cancer even afforded me the opportunity to appear on Vogue.com! Take this journey to figure out who you are, and truly appreciate every waking moment.
Please stay tuned for my next blog post, and don’t forget to check out Vogue.com featuring me and eight other amazing women who show us how to embrace style and beauty without hair.
