Jennifer Finkelstein serves as President and Founder of 5 Under 40 Foundation. Ms. Finkelstein spent her 18-year professional career in the Healthcare sector. She was diagnosed with Stage II Breast Cancer in 2005 at age 32 weeks before her wedding. She was inspired to create the concept of peer-to-peer breast cancer support in real time due to the absence of support. In September 2012, 5 Under 40 received official recognition as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. The organization funds medical, beauty and wellness services to women diagnosed with breast cancer under age 40 and those with a BRCA mutation. The organization has rolled out over 1000 funded services in less than four years.
In December of 2015, 5 Under 40 Foundation rang the Nasdaq opening bell. Earlier that morning she was featured in a CNN podcast The Bell Ringer’s Club hosted by Ms. Maribel Aber. In January 2016, the organization held its annual gala at Capitale NYC. On this magical evening, Ms. Contessa Brewer presented the organization’s “Real Woman in Real Time” Award to Ms. Amy Robach. Immediately following her speech, a professional dancer and 26 year-old recipient of 5 Under 40 took the stage for a brilliant performance. During the moving event finale, 30 of the organization’s funded recipients took the stage.
Ms. Finkelstein resides in NYC with her husband, Robert Fafalak, MD, and their bulldog, Lexi Finkelstein.
